Queen of Diamonds
The Sybil Card
This NFT artwork “The Queen Of Diamonds” continues the theme of ancient mythology and symbolism. Minted in equal numbers to our King, this image symbolises the great levelling quality of crypto assets, she represents equality, the power of ageless wisdom and the gift of prophecy.
This queen is “The Sybil” a mythological prophetess with the gift of foresight, a quality coveted by every influencer, fund manager or commentator in the Crypto space. Prophecy is central to this card, echoing those who have foretold the rise of Bitcoin. Sybil inhabits both past and present and her wisdom is admired and famously sought out. A scroll of prophecies crowns her, but their secrets are hidden in binary code, a nod to the cryptography of the blockchain.
Sybil, like a traditional Queen Of Diamonds, holds a flower, not a rose but a crocus. Traditionally the flower of foresight, it announces spring is coming. This echoes the belief that both the Blockchain and Bitcoin herald a new season in finance.
She also holds a golden Laurel branch, not just the emblem of victory, but like an olive branch they were often seen as a symbol of conciliation. As this wordless sign of peace glints in the light of the nebula, she sends a message that Bitcoin may well triumph in the war of value, but mass adoption only prevails when consensus is achieved.
She sits in an seemingly impossible time and relative dimension in space, revealing herself in glimpses amongst the columns of some lost civilisation, not antiquity perhaps, but the ruins of outdated and crumbling financial institutions. She turns away from confrontation but with a laser gaze, foretelling of seasons of growth and change. Through understanding and foresight comes prosperity and strength.

Secret Symbolism - A Guide to the Diamond Hand Collection
By our Art Historian - Delyth Smith BA
Playing cards were perfect inspiration for our NFT collectibles.Traditionally the card suits represented the battle of opposing forces and 13 lunar months, this reflects Bitcoin’s battle for acceptance in the financial world and the lunar iconography frequenting Crypto Art.
Our choice of Diamonds gives a nod of respect to the ‘diamond hands’ of the Hodler; the strength to hang on with unshakable belief. Diamonds also reflect the clarity of the blockchain itself, built to be transparent and democratise not centralise and obscure.
Our Diamond suit though, is solid gold not red, minted on the blockchain for eternal value, scarcity, proof of ownership and authenticity. They become a new gold and a new store of value like Bitcoin itself.
Diamonds were fittingly the traditional suit of merchants and commerce, they are also the fire suit, hinting at the burning passion of Bitcoiners. Fire is also symbolic of death and rebirth, like the phoenix rising from the ashes, so Bitcoin rose from the ashes of the 2007 crash, creating a new financial system. Diamonds are also associated with the Fall, reflecting the autumn of Fiat Currency.
All the cards spin in space, where the sun is eclipsed fully by the moon, these are common tropes of Crypto art. The characters all emerge from a nebula, the gas clouds that form stars, echoing the inception of the blockchain and the birth of Bitcoin.
The use of characters and symbolism from ancient myths and legends is inspired by the Renaissance, another era of great change and innovation in art and culture. From one great civilisation invariably another springs anew.
